  13.         Early this morning Mr. Walter R. Billford, one of London's shipping
  14.         magnates, was found dead in his house near West Landing.  His
  15.         body was found with a stab wound in his chest.  The only things
  16.         found in the room were several opened letters, his comb and
  17.         brush and a crystal pitcher full of water with two glasses.
  18.  
  19.         Although an extensive search of the house and grounds were made
  20.         Scotland Yard has failed to find the murder weapon.  Lestrade
  21.         is very puzzled about this but does say that they know the
  22.         knife was very thin due to the small wound found on the body.
  23.  
  24.         After questioning Gene Porter, the Billford butler, Inspector
  25.         Lestrade has arrested Miss Sarah Miles, Billford girlfriend.
  26.  
  27.         Also questioned by Lestrade were Shirley and Janice Billford,
  28.         Walter Billford two nieces, Richard Hartford, Shirley's fiance,
  29.         and Shirley Johnson, the Billford maid.
  30.  
  31.         Sarah has sent a note to you asking for your help.  She insists
  32.         that she had nothing to do with her boyfriends death.

  34.         In order to prove her innocence, Holmes must find out:

  89.         finally got married.  She went to her father and asked him if
  90.         he would help them by financing Richards new dress boutique.

  92.         When he refused, she decided to kill him and get the money that
  93.         was left to her in his will.  Taking his crystal letter opener,
  94.         she stabbed him and he fell to the floor dead.

  96.         After cleaning off the letter opener, she dropped it into the
  97.         pitcher of water where it disappeared at once.

  151.         several years.  Lately they had not been getting along well so
  152.         Billford was going to tell her it was over.
